In Central Kashmir and South Kashmir PUF is filling the vacuum due to the decline of PDP and failure of NC to fill that vacuum due to historically strong anti-NC sentiment in the south Kashmir.

Srinagar, Jul 07 (Only Kashmir): Political analysts are pointing towards a major surprise in upcoming Assembly elections with AIP-JKPM alliance Peoples United Front (PUF) emerging as a strong political force in the state.
With Engineer Rashid securing more than 1 lac votes in North Kashmir in last parliamentary elections, PUF has virtually knocked out NC, PDP, and PC from North and if the Alliance gets its right, then the North is already in PUFs strong grip, suggested the poll watchers in Srinagar.
Similarly, in Central Kashmir and South Kashmir PUF is filling the vacuum due to the decline of PDP and failure of NC to fill that vacuum due to historically strong anti-NC sentiment in the south Kashmir.
Peer Panchal and Chenab Valley are crying for change. PUF will have to be careful of not dividing the votes in Doda-Kishtwar and some statements from Dr. Shah Faesal, President JKPM have hinted that they might support the secular candidates in this belt.
However, PUF alliance has been getting huge traction in Peer Panchal with large groups of youth from Rajouri Poonch Budhal Surankote Gulabagh Mendhar joining the ranks of JKPM including many Sarpanches and Panches.
Political analysts are suggesting that PUF will be a major stake-holder in the next government formation and with no other party having a state-wide presence the competition is only between NC and PUF.
It will be interesting to see how the Doctor-Engineer alliance can deliver the promise of change if people of State give them the mandate this time.
