Srinagar: In a significant display of civil-military collaboration and cultural respect, the Indian Army, in partnership with residents of Gohallan village, has successfully constructed the shrine of Peer Syed Mehdi Shah. The shrine was inaugurated ahead of the saint’s death anniversary, marked by a special Namaz ceremony scheduled for 10 June 2025.

The event drew nearly 1,000 devotees from nearby villages—including Salamabad, Dardkote, Gwalta, and Jabla—and commenced with prayers for peace, enveloping the atmosphere in spiritual unity and brotherhood.

Local residents expressed heartfelt gratitude towards the Indian Army for its continued efforts in strengthening community infrastructure and nurturing social harmony.
