Amit Shah distributes appointment letters to families affected by Pak shelling

Union Home Minister Amit Shah today visited Poonch town to take a first-hand assessment of damages caused to the properties and religious places in the border town by the PaK shelling during the Operation Sindoor.

Accompanied by Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha, senior officials, and top security personnel, he met the families affected by Pakistan’s shelling at the Dak Bungalow during his visit, listened to their grievances, and offered condolences.

The Home Minister distributed financial assistance to the affected families and also distributed appointment letters among the next of kin of those killed in the shelling.

Mr. Shah also visited the religious places that were targeted by the Pakistan army and were damaged in the shelling.

The Home Minister chaired a high-level meeting at Raj Bhawan, Jammu, last night to review the security situation in Jammu and Kashmir. Mr. Shah also reviewed security and other arrangements for the annual Amarnath Yatra, which will begin on July 3 this year. He was briefed about the security measures for the yatra.

Mr. Shah arrived in Jammu yesterday evening on a two-day visit to the Union Territory, and upon arrival, he was received by Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha and other senior officials at the technical airport in Jammu and proceeded to Raj Bhawan, Jammu, where he chaired a high-level security review meeting.
