Chief Minister Omar Abdullah emphasized the need for short- and medium-term, district-level planning to achieve the long-term vision of Viksit Jammu & Kashmir by 2047. Chairing a review meeting of the Planning, Development & Monitoring Department, he stressed the importance of data-driven strategies tailored to each district’s needs.

He reviewed key initiatives including the SDG Coordination Centre, District Domestic Product, and the Good Governance Index, urging departments to use insights from reports like Mission Yuva and DGGI to realign schemes effectively. The CM clarified that the governance index is a tool for progress, not comparison.

While acknowledging J&K’s 10th national ranking, he called for continued improvement and adaptation of best practices from across India. He also urged preserving consistent performance metrics for accountability.

On the occasion, he released major reports including the District Domestic Product Report 2022–23 and Good Governance Index 2023–24.
