LONDON: Prince Ankit Love, son of the late Bhim Singh—founder of the Jammu and Kashmir National Panthers Party, has announced the signing of a Letter of Intent to purchase 10 Turkish TF stealth fighter jets worth $1 billion. The jets are intended to form the foundation of a new Jammu and Kashmir Air Force to defend against cross-border missile strikes from Pakistan.
Love claimed that the agreement was signed at Brown’s Hotel in Mayfair, London following meetings with representatives of Turkish Aerospace Industries. Love cited the May 8 missile attack on Jammu, which killed 22 people and left over 10,000 homeless, as the key motivation behind the initiative.
He emphasized the urgency of establishing a rapid-response force in accordance with international law and the 1948 United Nations Security Council Resolution 47, which he claims affirms Kashmir’s right to self-defense.
According to Love, the proposed air force would carry out precision strikes on terrorist bases and Pakistani artillery within Kashmir, aiming to end what he described as Pakistan’s “nuclear blackmail” and ongoing violations of international law.
He also accused Pakistan of sponsoring terrorism and condemned its military presence in Kashmir as illegal, citing violations of the 1947 Standstill Agreement and UN directives.
Prince Ankit Love also plans to contest the 2028 London mayoral election. In June 2022 following the death of his father, Bhim Singh, Ankit Love declares himself as the Maharaja of Jammu and Kashmir.
