Srinagar, May 19: In a significant move to bolster civic infrastructure and public safety in Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir National Conference Chief Spokesperson and MLA Zadibal, Tanvir Sadiq, called on Chief Minister Omar Abdullah at the Civil Secretariat on Monday.

During the meeting, Sadiq underscored the pressing need for the establishment of fire stations in critical and densely populated localities, namely New Colony Lal Bazar, Bhrar Bagwanpora, and Mir Behri Dal (Nagaland Ground). He stressed that the frequent fire incidents in these areas demand an immediate and strategic augmentation of emergency response infrastructure to safeguard lives and property.

Highlighting the broader civic concerns of Srinagar, Sadiq also urged the Chief Minister to expedite the long-pending macadamisation of roads across the city. He called upon the Housing and Urban Development Department to promptly sanction and initiate resurfacing works to improve mobility and address public grievances related to deteriorating road conditions.

Chief Minister Omar Abdullah responded affirmatively, assuring Sadiq of the government’s resolve to address these vital civic issues. He reiterated his administration’s commitment to holistic urban development in Srinagar, with a focused thrust on strengthening drainage systems, healthcare facilities, sanitation, transportation, and road connectivity.
