Jyoti Malhotra, a well-known YouTuber and peace activist behind the channel “Travel with Jo”, has been arrested by Hisar police for allegedly spying for Pakistan. The 33-year-old influencer, with over 377K YouTube subscribers, is accused of sharing sensitive Indian information with Pakistani intelligence.
Authorities allege Malhotra built contacts during her 2023 visits to Pakistan, including with Ehsan-ur-Rahim alias Danish, recently expelled from the Pakistan High Commission for espionage. According to the FIR, Malhotra used encrypted apps like WhatsApp and Telegram, disguising contacts under fake names.
She is believed to be part of a larger espionage ring operating in Haryana and Punjab, with six others arrested. Officials also say she promoted a pro-Pakistan narrative online, including content from events at the Pakistan High Commission.
Youtuber Jyoti Malhotra’s arrest follows the Pahalgam terror attack and India’s Operation Sindoor in Pakistan.
Malhotra’s related video raised suspicion, and she now faces charges under the Official Secrets Act and Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. She is in police custody while the Economic Offences Wing continues the investigation.
