New Delhi, May 17, 2025: In a significant diplomatic push, India is set to dispatch multi-party delegations of Members of Parliament (MPs) to key countries starting May 22, 2025, to articulate its stance on the recent India-Pakistan conflict and expose Pakistan’s role in cross-border terrorism. The initiative, coordinated by Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju, follows the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack, which killed 26 civilians and triggered heightened tensions, culminating in India’s Operation Sindoor targeting terror camps in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir.

The delegations, comprising 5-6 MPs each, will visit nations including the United States, United Kingdom, South Africa, Qatar, and the United Arab Emirates. Prominent MPs such as Shashi Tharoor, Asaduddin Owaisi, Manish Tewari, and Salman Khurshid are likely participants, with Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) officials accompanying each team to provide detailed briefings. The mission aims to present evidence of Pakistan’s support for terrorist groups, such as The Resistance Front (TRF), and build global consensus against cross-border terrorism.

Sources indicate that eight delegations, totaling up to 48 MPs, will engage with foreign governments and institutions to highlight India’s diplomatic measures, including downsizing Pakistan’s diplomatic missions, closing borders, halting trade, and suspending the Indus Waters Treaty. The outreach seeks to reinforce India’s narrative following the US-brokered ceasefire on May 10, which halted intense military exchanges. Despite the ceasefire, Prime Minister Narendra Modi emphasized that India has only “paused” military action and will monitor Pakistan closely.

This rare display of political unity, involving both ruling National Democratic Alliance (NDA) and opposition MPs, underscores India’s resolve to counter Pakistan-sponsored terrorism on global platforms. The delegations are expected to return by early June after completing their 10-day mission.
