Some days create special impressions on hearts and minds of the masses. One such unique day is 5 August 2019 for the people of Jammu and Kashmir, India. It changed the destiny of entire Jammu and Kashmir towards betterment.

For decades Jammu and Kashmir was reeling under darkness with no sight of its miseries. Article 370 and its components like Article 35 A had destroyed the peace and prosperity of Jammu and Kashmir.

Backwardness, violence, death, and destruction were the only things. Post abrogation of article 370, the things in Jammu and Kashmir have charged towards an era of unprecedented growth and prosperity.

The entire Jammu and Kashmir, along with the country barring a few negative minds are cherishing the transition of Jammu and Kashmir towards a region full of welfare and progress.

It was a proud moment for one and all that resolution seeking the revocation of the temporary special status under Article 370 and the bill for the state’s reorganization was debated and passed by the Rajya Sabha – the upper house of the Indian parliament – on 5 August 2019. On 6 August, the Lok Sabha – India’s lower house of parliament – debated and passed the reorganization bill along with the resolution recommending the revocation.

As a matter of fact, after Maharaja Hari Singh, the ruler of the princely state of Jammu and Kashmir, signed the Instrument of Accession on October 26, 1947, the state became a part of the Dominion of India. Article 370 of the Indian Constitution states that J&K is covered only by Articles 1 and 370. The President, in consultation with the state government, was to make the decision about the application of Other Articles.

The dynasty and corrupt political parties used it to their advantage to unleash a reign of darkness in Jammu and Kashmir. Nepotism, terrorism, and corruption became hallmarks of Jammu and Kashmir under Article 370.

It is a moment of great pride for the entire country that in accordance with the authority afforded by Clause (1) of Article 370 of the Indian Constitution, the President of India issued the Constitution (Implementation to Jammu and Kashmir) Order, 2019 on August 5, 2019, repealing the special status previously accorded to Jammu and Kashmir.

Jammu and Kashmir no longer has its own constitution, flag, or anthem, and its population no longer has dual citizenship as a result of the repeal of Article 370. Jammu and Kashmir now abide by all legislative amendments made by the parliament, including the Right to Information Act and the Right to Education Act.

After the abrogation of Article 370 Jammu and Kashmir is now enjoying the fruits of peace and progress due to integration with the nation.

After Article 370 is repealed, Kashmiris can work in the Indians’ newly established firms and make good money. Creating more jobs will inevitably lower crime. The Kashmiris will also benefit economically if they sell their lands to the Indians on a leasing basis.
5 August is certainly a day to cherish for Jammu and Kashmir as a long chain of darkness broke and peace, and prosperity is ushered.

India as a whole is now gathered. There is no distinct constitution for Indians and Kashmiris. Everyone will adhere to the motto “One nation, one constitution”.
