Political parties in J&K formed alliance for Special Status, resolution of K-Issue

Srinagar, Oct 15 (Only Kashmir): In a major significant development the Political parties led by Member of parliament Dr. Farooq Abdullah on Thursday for formalized an alliance to fight for restoration of Jammu & Kashmir’s special status, which was revoked on 05th August 2019. The alliance has been named as Peoples Alliance for Gupkar Declaration.

Soon after the meeting Farooq Abdullah while interacting with media persons said that all the signatories of the Gupkar declaration have decided to forge an alliance to fight for the restoration of special status, adding, steps will be taken for resolution of Kashmir issue also. “We’ll struggle, fight until we get back that which was snatched from us, undemocratically,” Farooq said.

Omar Abdullah, former Chief Minister of erstwhile state of Jammu and Kashmir was seen loud and clearly dictating his father during latter’s interaction with media. The meeting comes a day after PDP President Mehbooba Mufti was released from house detention.

Farooq, who was flanked by PDP President Mehbooba Mufti, former Chief Minister and his son Omar Abdullah, Peoples Conference chairman Sajad Gani Lone, Awami National Conference Vice president Muzaffar Ahmed Shah (nephew of Farooq), CPI(M) state secretary MY Tarigami, Jammu and Kashmir Peoples Movement president Javaid Mustafa Mir and others, said “Our motive is to fight for the restoration of August 04, 2019 position,” he said, adding that the alliance will fight for the rights that were snatched last year from Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh.

The veteran politician further said that the next meeting of the signatories will be held in coming days to decide on future course of action.

Pertinently, all the signatories of Gupkar Declaration barring Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) President Ghulam Ahmad Mir participated in the meeting.
