Kashmiri Youth bags Podium at World Racing Championship in Dubai

The last team that represented India was 12 years ago and comprised some of the top drivers from our country such as Narain Karthikeyan, Karun Chandhok, Armaan Ebrahim, Deepak Chinappa, Eshaan Singh And Ameya Walvalkar.

Srinagar, Sep 18 (Only Kashmir): A Young talent who hails from Srinagar district of Jammu and Kashmir bagged podium by securing the position of 2nd runners-up for team India.
Asrar Wani who is also the member of prominent Kashmir based organization ‘Kashmir Off Road’ represented Team India at the world endurance racing championship, which was held at Dubai, with 32 participants from all across the world and bagged podium by securing the position of 2nd runners-up for team India.

The Dubai Kartdrome endurance championship is the most prestigious 4 stroke Karting event in the world. The championship has been running successfully for 18 years with over 30 teams taking part from all over the world. Some of the countries taking part in the Nations cup category are France, Germany, Russia, Portugal, UAE, Bahrain, Oman, South Africa, Spain, Czech Republic and India. There are four rounds through the year in the championship.

While talking with this reporter, Ali Sajid founder of Kashmir Off-Road said, “Feeling elated and extremely proud of Asrar’s hard work and diligence. He has been one of the most optimistic and consistent drivers in our club, and has the potential to compete and win in international race events. His participation in Volkswagen Ameo Cup National racing Championship last year was also commendable. Asrar’s enthusiasm and passion for motorsports is making all of Kashmir proud with his achievements. Wishing him success always”.
