Srinagar, Jul 17 (Only Kashmir): Lambasting the senior doctors for being afraid of treating Covid patients in hospitals, Private Schools Association of Jammu and Kashmir (PSAJK) called on the government to investigate the conduct of various doctors who have deserted their posts amidst the Covid19 emergency.
“What COVID attendants and people in general are saying that entire system seems to be run by some brave heart junior doctors. At many places the senior doctors have simply abandoned their duties. They don’t bother to check on the patients. The added rude attitude is now common even among junior medical staff. We have already witnessed patients dying due to lack of doctors and medical staff,” said G N Var President PSAJK in a statement.
“The government should crack its whip on such irresponsible medical staff. There needs to be extra accountability. If the things go as such then God forbid we are staring at a major crisis.”
“Unfortunately our healthcare system is broken and this has resulted in increase in the number of deaths. The deaths due to Covid19 get highlighted but the deaths due to other small ailments go unnoticed,” said Var. “Those who have to visit hospitals are expressing their horror stories every day. It seems the system has crumbled and people have nowhere to go. Simple patients are being shown doors from multiple hospitals. People don’t know here to go.”
Rameez Makhdoomi, a journalist by profession, who lost mother due to the pandemic, talking to Onlykashmir.in said, “Yes we saw for a week during mother’s treatment how junior doctors are doing magnificent job but seniors nowhere seen. And patient attendants who know zero of medical science asked to give a call on particular treatment. it is about administrative staff as well, they need to look on to these things.”
