Shuja ul Haq is maiden elected President of Kashmir Press Club

Srinagar, Jul 16 (Only Kashmir): Shuja-ul-Haq was Monday elected as the maiden president of Kashmir Press Club (KPC) after beating his rival with just one vote. Shuja got 92 compared to his rival 91 votes.
The others who made to first maiden elected body of KPC include Mozam Muhammad as vice president, Ishfaq Tantray as general secretary and Farooq Javid as treasurer.
Habib Naqash, Arshid Shah, Nisar Ahmad, Gowhar Geelani Shafat Kirra, Altaf Baba and Auqib Javaid were elected as Executive members.
Pertinently, the KPC maiden Elections witness 91% turnout, while as a few Journalist associations has earlier disassociated from the electoral process with the reasons known to them only.
The possession of 9-HB Polo View was handed over by the Mehbooba Mufti government to Press Club Committee of Kashmir in January, 2018. Shuja ul Haq was nominated its interim president following Saleem Pandit’s resignation.
