Nazir Yatoo condemns attaching house of Asiya Andrabi, demands safety to Barkati’s wife

Srinagar, Jul 11 (Only Kashmir): PDP senior leader Engineer Nazir Yatoo while condemning attaching of incarcerated Dukhtaran-e-Milat Chief Asiya Andrabi’s house has appealed Home Minister must immediately revoke the order.
Yatoo has also demanded that family of Sarjan Barkati should be ensured safety and security in view of the physical attack on Barkati’s wife. He appealed newly appointed Chairperson of J&K State Women’s Commission (SWC) to come to rescue Shabroza Barkati.
In a statement, Engineer Nazir Yatoo said that action by National Investigation Agency (NIA) to seal the residence of Asiya Andrabi in Soura area of Srinagar is a condemnable act and every conscious citizen must raise their voice against it.
“Sealing the house under Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act is not justified especially at a time when Asiya Andrabi and her husband Dr. Ashiq are both lodged in jail. I appeal Home Minister Amit Shah to revoke the order” said Yatoo.
Yatoo also appealed Govt to identify the attackers who tried to strangulate Shabroza Barkati wife of jailed separatist leader Sarjan Barkati a few days back.
“PDP demands that Shabroza be given adequate security. We appeal newly appointed Chairperson State Women’s Commission Vasundhra Masoodi to take cognizance of this attack” Yatoo added.
